BUILT FOR THE CLIENT WHO KNOWS THE DIFFERENCE

North Grid builds custom homes, timber frames, and remote access projects across Southeastern Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. The clients who hire us tend to have one thing in common: they want to know the truth about what their project actually takes. Not a number that sounds good on paper. The real scope, the real challenges, and a builder who will see it through.

If you’ve been around construction long enough to know the difference between a builder who says yes to everything and one who earns your trust, you already know which one you’re looking for.

That’s who we are.

Serving SE Manitoba and NW Ontario

Builders trust our specialized expertise in timber frames, panelized construction, and complex building systems. They know they can count on us to manage approvals, coordinate trades, and hit deadlines on projects that require precision and experience.

We also practice radical transparency. You’ll see every number, hear hard news fast, and never be kept in the dark to protect anyone’s reputation. We don’t try to save face. We save your project.

THE NORTH GRID PROMISE

Peace of Mind

Every dollar on your project is visible in real time through your client portal. Weekly site photos, itemized budget tracking, and proactive updates mean you know exactly where things stand before you ever have to ask. You’ll hear hard news from us first, and you’ll hear it clearly.

Comfort

Advanced building science and energy-efficient construction, including SIPs and ICF panels, mean your home performs in every room and every season. We don’t build to minimum code. We build to last.

Beauty

Timber frame mastery is at the core of what we do. From custom joinery to full structural integration, we design and build spaces that make people stop and look twice.

Freedom

Build where your heart calls you. Remote access, water access only, seasonal roads, challenging logistics, these are the projects we get up for. We handle what makes other builders walk away.

Confidence

Before a single trade is booked or a shovel hits the ground, your full plan is mapped, your budget is itemized, your long-lead materials are ordered, and you’ve signed off on everything. No surprises mid-build.

Quality

We complete our own internal punch list review before your walkthrough, because we’ve already been through it. You walk in knowing we’ve been there first.

Health

Superior insulation, intentional ventilation, and energy-efficient building systems mean better air quality and a healthier home for your family, built into the structure from day one.

Value

Transparent budgeting and professional project management protect your investment from start to finish. At handover you’ll receive a full project summary comparing actual cost to budget and actual schedule to plan.

Possibility

The projects that make other contractors hesitate are usually the ones we find most interesting. If you’ve been told no, let’s talk about what’s actually getting in the way.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU WORK WITH NORTH GRID

Complex projects have real challenges. What separates a good build from a bad one is rarely the problem itself. It’s how the builder handles it. Here is exactly what working with North Grid looks like, from first contact to the one-year follow-up.”

Stage 1: First Contact

Every inquiry gets a personal response within one business day. Not a form email. A real response from a real person. From there we ask a few straightforward questions to understand whether we’re the right fit. If we’re not, we’ll tell you honestly and point you somewhere better. If it looks promising, we’ll book an on-site consultation within a few days.

Stage 2: On-Site Assessment

The first visit is mostly us listening. We walk the property, assess the conditions and access, and ask the questions that need to be asked, including the uncomfortable ones. It is better to have that conversation now than six months into a build. Within 24 hours of the visit you’ll receive a written summary of what we discussed and a clear next step.

Stage 3: Pre-Construction Planning

Pre-construction is where we do the work that most builders skip, and it’s the reason our builds don’t fall apart halfway through. Every cost is itemized and visible. Long-lead materials are identified and ordered immediately. Trades are confirmed in advance. You’ll sign off on the full plan, budget, and schedule before a shovel hits the ground. During this phase you’ll hear from us at minimum every two weeks. You should never have to ask where things are at. We tell you first.

Stage 4: The Build

Weekly written updates with site photos. A live budget tracker updated at minimum weekly. Change orders documented in writing before any out-of-scope work proceeds. When something unexpected comes up, and on a complex build it always does, you’ll hear about it from us before we keep moving. We come to you with the situation, the options, and our recommendation. You make the call.

Stage 5: Handover

Before we ever book your walkthrough, we’ve completed our own internal punch list review. We’ve already been through it. At handover you’ll receive a complete package: warranty documentation, manufacturer warranties, product care guides, trade contacts for every system in the building, and a final project summary comparing actual cost to budget and actual schedule to plan. We walk through the entire build together, room by room, and demonstrate every system.

Stage 6: After the Build

Thirty days after handover we follow up. Not because something is probably wrong, but because we said we would. One year out, we check in again. A warranty review, a conversation, making sure everything is still performing the way it should. The relationship doesn’t end when the last nail is in. That’s not how we’re built.

FOR THE PROJECT OTHERS WALKED AWAY FROM

Thinking about these challenges?

You’ve found the location. You’ve designed the build. And then a builder saw the scope and went quiet.

You’ve heard the budget and timeline promises before. And you’ve watched them fall apart when the real problems showed up.

You don’t want close enough. You want the thing you had in mind when you first started planning this.

THIS IS WHAT NORTH GRID DOES

We have the experience, logistical expertise, and problem-solving skills to deliver solutions.

“Remote access, challenging sites, and complex logistics are where we do our best work. If the location is what’s pushing other builders away, it’s probably the most interesting part of the project to us.”

“Hard news gets delivered fast. You’ll see every number, understand every decision, and hear about problems before they become bigger ones. Honest communication is not a feature at North Grid. It’s a standard.”

“We bring technical depth in timber frames, panelized systems, and complex building systems, paired with professional project management that keeps everything on track. We execute what others can’t, and we stand behind it when it’s done.”
